"This book is a much needed discussion of the functioning of men as husbands, fathers, brothers, coworkers and friends. It provides essential understandings of men's actual relationships and corrects the too frequent disparagement of men for their seeming indifference to issues of intimacy. It is both authoritative and accessible, and interesting throughout. I strongly recommend it not only to professionals and students in social psychology and sociology, but to women who want to understand the concerns, behaviors, and experiences of the men in their lives and to men who want to better understand themselves."
Robert S. Weiss, Author: Staying the Course: The Emotional and Social Lives of Men Who Have Done Well at Work, Emeritus Professor of Sociology, University of Massachusetts, Boston
