Synopsis
An essential reflection on core thems of the United Church Christ, while inviting new and long-standing members alke to consider their own identity and faith formation. Six central themes invite engagement: 1) We Are People of God's Extravagant Welcome; 2) We Belong to Christ; 3) We Are A People of Covenant, a United and Uniting Church; 4) We are One at Baptism and the Table; 5) We Thank God by Working for a Just and Loving World; 6) We Listen for the Still-speaking God. A seventh chapter offers historical examples. The United Church of Christ's Statement of Faith and the Preamble to the Consitution are also included.

About the Author
Sidney D. Fowler is a consultant who assists congregations to become centers of spiritual formation through worship, sacraments, prayer, education, the arts, and spiritual discernment. Currently, he directs the lectionary project for the Human Rights Campaign (HRC); and teaches with shalem Institute for Spritiual Formation. He is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and earned his Ed.D. in religion and education form Union theologcial Seminary and Columbia University in the City of New York.
