Richard Galbraith spent more than thirty years developing software, starting with FORTRAN and COBOL with the Arizona State Department of Corrections, Computer Sciences Corporation and the Arizona Department of Education. During that time he created award winning statistical software using BASIC on a TRS-80 micro computer and authored several articles in "Creative Computing." Since then, he has spent twenty-two years as a software engineer for Honeywell, working primarily with different dialects of C++ and Visual Basic. He graduated from Cornell University with a major in mathematics and went on to get Master Degrees in Youth Work and Applied Criminology. His early career path meandered through teaching mathematics in a reform school, managing a unit of the Boys Clubs of America, serving as a Juvenile Probation officer, teaching in a middle school before becoming the first Research & Statistical Analyst for the State Department of Corrections which led to becoming a software engineer. He is now enjoying an active retirement in Sandwich, MA with his wife of 40 years.
