Ever wonder why people fall asleep in church? It happens. We ve all seen it. We shuffle into rows of seats that grow more comfortable with every new fundraising campaign. We slouch down and settle in for an hour or so, as singers and storytellers and preachers and teachers take their turns filling our ears. And almost without fail, at least one of us nods off while listening to the greatest story ever told. The church was not meant to be like this. The church was meant to be on its feet, in the world, making all things new. The church was meant to be sent. Kim Hammond and Darren Cronshaw want to help us―all of us―rediscover our sentness. Dive into Sentness, and explore the six postures of a church that s keeping pace with God s work in the world. Rediscover the gospel that first quickened your pulse and got you up on your feet, ready to go wherever Jesus called you. Get Sentness, and prepare to get sent.

Kim is an inspirational communicator who has spoken at youth conferences, church services and pastors' conferences around the world. He has guest lectured at Wheaton College, Asbury Seminary and Johnson University. Kim is passionate about mentoring, motivating and mobilizing leaders and their missionary movements, and championing those who live the mission of God on the edge. Before moving to America in 2009, Kim worked with mission-minded friends to plant the Junction missional community and lead Forge in Victoria, Australia. He was also National Recruiter and Networker for Youth for Christ Australia. Kim is ordained with CRC Churches International. While not preaching Kim does some stand up comedy around Chicago. Kim loves coaching his boys play basketball, loves food and having people over for BBQs, but mostly he loves taking his three boys swimming or his wife Maria to the movies.

Other passions in Darren's life are being husband to Jenni, proud Dad to three children, lover of good books and movies, jogging or riding around Melbourne, and enjoying the tastes and cultures of the world.
Sentness is a breath of fresh air. Hammond and Cronshaw bring a much needed challenge for the church to recapture its core calling and identity as a sent people. The authors affirm church communities of all shapes, sizes and models and at the same time they challenge their readers to be authentic in community, faithful to the Jesus of the Bible and risk takers on our mission adventure. This book is biblically grounded, as well as practically and personally oriented. ... an excellent read for anyone serious about mission and discipleship.
