In his new book, Evangelism: A Biblical Response to Today's Questions, J. D. Payne responds to today's most commonly asked questions. Written in an engaging style with concise chapters, this book establishes a biblical, theological, and practical foundation for missional living.Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, this book provides the reader with healthy and clear parameters for sharing faith that can be applied to differing cultural contexts in today's globalized world. Some of the questions addressed include:What is evangelism anyway? What is the gospel? What is repentance? If God is in control, then why do we need to share the gospel? What is election?Does a loving God send people to hell? What is the role of free will in salvation?

"In captivating conversational style, Dr. Payne raises practical questions about evangelism, then offers thoughtful biblical answers. He is right on target. I find especially noteworthy his treatment of the Reformed-Calvinistic and Wesleyan-Arminian traditions, regarding the issues of divine sovereignty and human choice in election. It's an invigorating discussion, and the reader will not come away unrewarded." Robert Coleman, Distinguished Professor of Evangelism and Discipleship, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
"Though the word is not used in the title, the book is actually a great book on theology as it relates to evangelism. The tough questions related to evangelism are skillfully answered, and yet the book is filled with practical material which any aspiring witness needs to know. This book will be as helpful to you as any book on evangelism. Read it and it will go a long way in helping you to do it well." Dr. Roy J. Fish, Distinguished Professor of Evangelism Emeritus, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
"Let me state it as simply as I can -- this is an excellent book! It's clear and accessible, biblically rich and theologically informed. It will prove to be a great resource to encourage and challenge evangelism among God's people. If you find evangelism scary, read this book. It won't take away all your anxiety, but it will give you the framework and tools to at least start to calm the fear and enable you to start to see evangelism as a privilege rather than a threat." Steve Timmis, Church Planter, Co-author of Total Church: A Radical Reshaping Around Gospel and Community
"J.D. Payne has given the church a readable, concisely written, and immensely practical book that brings together well both the timely and timeless. He deals in a marvelous way with both key theological concepts and practical questions believers ask." Alvin L. Reid, Ph.D., Professor of Evangelism and Student Ministry, Bailey Smith Chair of Evangelism, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
"Why don't believers share the Gospel more often than they do? It may be due to questions they have about evangelism that no one hs ever answered for them. J.D. Payne, combining the knowledge of a scholar with the skill of a practitioner, answers thirty-three common questions that Christians have in preparing to share their faith. His answers are saturated with Scripture and pastoral wisdom. This book will help you in your witnessing -- read it! It will help others as well -- share it!" Timothy K. Beougher, Billy Graham Professor of Evangelism, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
"J.D. Payne's Evangelism: A Biblical Response to Today's Questions has provided a unique and excellent resource for anyone interested in biblical evangelism. He has gathered an amazing list of questions, answering them one-by-one with gentleness, tact and biblical clarity. I heartily recommend his book." Thomas P. Johnston, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Evangelism, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
