Synopsis
The World Guide To Mountains And Mountaineering is a complete guide to the principal mountain ranges in the world. It gives a clear map and a brief description of each range's geography, its special peculiarities, its climbing history and its best-known climbs, as well as its mountaineering potential. The major and important peaks, passes and glaciers for each range are listed, and there are notes on how to reach them and what facilities exist for the visiting mountaineer.
