About the Author

Joseph Petrus Wergin is president of the American Cribbage Congress, serves on the Rules Committee of the International Cribbage Association, and is a well-known national and international tournament player.  A former athletic coach and science teacher, he has written several books on two other sophisticated card games, skat and sheepshead.  Since 1945 he has served as a consultant on skat for Hoyle's Official Rules of Card Games, published by the U.S. Playing Card Co.
