Teen-agers searching for a treasure hidden at an old farm find a secret message written in code.

Grade 5-8 Ninth-grade twins Sara and Sam Harmon make a new friend and discover that a treasure is hidden somewhere in their old farmhouse in Maplewood, Pennsylvania. A secret code looks like the key to the mystery, and prowlers in the barn indicate that someone else is looking for the treasure, too. While the characters are trite (wonderful Christian family helps poor underprivileged girl to gain affluence and faith in God), Moore has written a suspenseful mystery which will probably appeal to a somewhat younger age group than the intended teenage audience.
