Review

Mr. Vic is an industrious beaver in the town of Bingo. As the town's barber, he cuts the hair of all the animals that come into his shop. Big or small, fat or thin, the animals can rely on Mr. Vic to trim, clip, shave, or shear them. Mr. Vic's door is open to everyone, except bears. Why doesn't Mr. Vic like bears? Mr. Vic knows (or thinks he knows) just how loud bears are. He is positive that they are unpleasant, ill-mannered, and have fleas. Simply not the kind of customer he wants in his shop. Mr. Vic is absolutely certain about bears until one day a bear enters his shop and asks politely for a haircut. And, Mr. Vic's opinion of bears changes forever. The Barber Of Bingo is both an enchanting tale and a perceptive look at how easy it is to misunderstand others. It is an entertaining and insightful picturebook that children will enjoy as they learn a critically important lesson of modern life. -- Midwest Book Review
