From School Library Journal

Grade 2-3–Seventeen small-format pages on each topic translate into sketchy histories. In each book, brief chapters with large-print text are filled with color and black-and-white photos, maps, and drawings that fill slightly more than half of most pages. The texts, though informative, do not always flow smoothly; at times, paragraphs turn into recitations of facts. A box of facts or a time line is included in each title. These books may have appeal in the specific locales, but are not likely to be in high demand elsewhere.–Eldon Younce, Harper Elementary School, KS
