This well-organized guide focuses on making the most of the typical 50-minute "one-shot" workshop to teach research skills to students, employees, and patrons. The author, who has served as a coordinator of user education and distance learning, offers chapters covering the steps in the ADDIE instructional design cycle: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Discussions are supported by illustrations, summaries, case studies, and reminder lists. The volume concludes with a step-by-step checklist. Any librarian, whether in a school, public, or academic library, who needs to teach learning skills on a regular basis will find useful information here. Patricia Hogan
