Gregory Benford is a professor of physics at the University of California, Irvine. He is a Woodrow Wilson Fellow, and was Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University. His research encompasses both theory and experiments in the fields of astrophysics and plasma physics. His fiction has won many awards, including the Nebula Award for his novel Timescape. Dr. Benford makes his home in Laguna Beach, California.

The book is in very good condition, marred only by a scrape on right edge of front cover, wear on bottom edges of covers, and bumps on spine ends. Its binding is sound and square, with no spine crease. Covers are unmarked and otherwise unworn. Pages are unworn and, other than the author's signature, unmarked. Not a remainder. Its dust jacket, now protected by a removable mylar cover, is in good condition: unclipped and unfaded, but with chips on front top and bottom, back top, and spine ends, plus dampstain and soiling on the back side. I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its new owner in the same condition as my description. Signed by Author(s).
