"Based on a March 2000 symposium held during the 219th ACS meeting, this collection of 16 papers presents research on the effects and possible benefits of reduced gravity for polymerization. The research was performed both in flight and on the ground. Some of the topics are the role of gravity in sol-gel systems, growth kinetics of polydiacetylene films prepared in microgravity, the production of polyurethane foam in research rockets, bubble behavior in frontal polymerization during KC-135 parabolic flights, and the production of bacterial polyesters in simulated microgravity."--SciTech Book News
