Magnolia is the first book in a contemporary series centered around the ladies of the Bellamy Garden Club. Southern belle Magnolia Bellamy has hired a Yankee contractor to restore a Confederate treasure--Ashworth Mansion. This unlikely pair teams up to solve the mystery of break-ins at the mansion and learn about love and forgiveness along the way.

Magnolia is light-hearted, entertaining reading that will help readers face the obstacles from the past, recognize their worth to God, and realize the need to forgive.

About the Author:
Born June 8, 1955 in Havana, Cuba, and raised in Venezuela, Ginny Aiken discovered books early on. She wrote her first novel at fifteen, then burned it when she turned a "mature" sixteen. That first effort was followed by certificates in French Literature and Culture from the University of Nancy, France, and a BA in Spanish and French Literature from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Ms. Aiken lives in York, Pennsylvania, with her husband of twenty years, George, and their sons, George Ivan, Gregory Alex, Geoffrey Nicholas, and Grant Adrian. When she isn't busy with the duties of a soccer mom, she can be found reading, writing, enjoying classical music, and preparing for her next Bible study.
From Library Journal:
Aiken (Dream Vacation) launches a new trilogy based on three sisters. Proud of her Southern heritage and Confederate ancestors who settled the town of Bellamy, VA, Magnolia Bellamy is determined not to let Yankee restoration expert Clay Marlowe get the best of her. She's overseeing the funds Clay needs to restore the plantation Ashworth Manor, and they butt heads over exactly who's in charge of spending. Clay's past rises up to haunt him, even though he turned over a new leaf when he found Christ. Amidst a series of predictable misunderstandings, a Southern accent syrupy enough to coat pancakes, and characters who need a swift kick in the pants, there's not enough solid basis left for this story to be anything but light reading. Not recommended.
