Ellen Gunderson Traylor, one of America's foremost biblical novelists, is a gifted storyteller who is known for bringing characters of the Bible to life. She has written 15 novels which have combined sales totaling over one million copies.
A former English and journalism instructor, with a Master's Degree in English, Traylor has taught courses at virtually every level, including those she created on writing as a craft for Whitworth College and Eastern Washington University. Her Write On! seminars focus on providing aspiring writers with a strong foundation in the basics. Traylor has created and taught fiction writing classes for Mount Herman and Seattle Pacific University's Christian Writer's Conferences.
Traylor has been a columnist and correspondent for a variety of magazines and newspapers over the years. An award-winning feature writer, Traylor has written screenplays and political speeches and served as a contributing writer/researcher for the Tyndale Family Bible Encyclopedia.
Some of Traylor's most popular biblical novels include Song of Abraham, John - Son of Thunder, Ruth - A Love Story, Joseph - Dreamer of Dreams, Mark - Eyewitness and Jerusalem - The City of God among others.
Her upcoming project, The Oracle (W Publishing Group, May 2001) is a sequel to The Priest, her first contemporary novel published by W Publishing Group in 1998, although it also works as a stand alone title. In both books the hero, David Rothmeyer, is commissioned by an esoteric Jewish sect to locate items and genealogies necessary to their goals. Both books mirror today's headlines, portraying current event s in light of fascinating biblical prophecies.
Having been featured in numerous articles as well as on both television and radio, she is a sought-after speaker for seminars, conventions, conferences and both church and school events.
The mother of two strapping sons, she and her husband live in Montana with their youngest, where she owns Port Hole Books, specializing in rare books.
