Retired managing editor for Guideposts, Patterson gives us something of a curiosity: less than a novel, more than a biography. Patterson's work is more like a decoction of the four canonical Gospels grouped by subject matter and rendered fresh and modern by the interjection of questions by the reporter. The effect is rather like Bill Moyers interview at the gates of Heaven, and the result is both enlightening and gently amusing. For larger collections of Christian writing.
