About the Author

Debra Dier is the award winning author of sixteen critically acclaimed romance novels and short stories. Her work has earned her a place in the Writer's Hall of Fame. Debra was born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York. Although she always knew she wanted to do something creative in life, well-meaning family members talked her into doing something in a much more practical light. She received a BS in Information Systems Management and headed down a career path that included writing computer code and designing computer systems. It wasn't exactly what she had in mind when she thought of a purely creative career. For some mystifying reason, she was put on a fast track in this career and became a manager of other programmers and analysts in a large corporation at a young age. It was then she decided to try her hand at writing something other than computer code. After her first novel, Surrender the Dream was published, she took the plunge into writing full time. She has never regretted that decision.

Review

Meg Drummond hasn't had anything to do with her father for the past nine years since his dalliance with another woman destroyed her family. But since her brother Colin's death, leaving her sole heir, Sir Robert Drummond is interested in who she intends to marry. Meg doesn't plan to marry at all, but doesn't mind letting her father worry about her marrying an Englishman who will plunder Drummond land. Meg doesn't realize what lengths her father is willing to go to-- to protect her and his lands-- until the night Alec MacLaren shows up and kidnaps her. Reconciling with her father may prove impossible, but there is no denying the attraction Meg feels for Alec. Still, she won't be held prisoner and she won't give in to his charm and flattery. Alec owes Robert Drummond his life. He knew Meg a long time ago, before the war, before he nearly died in battle. Meg has grown from a sweet, innocent love-sick child into a beautiful, feisty woman. Kidnapping her is both heaven and hell, but he intends to help Robert get his daughter back. Alec has another decision to make as well, one that's not so easily answered-- should he marry Meg as Robert requests? Kissing her convinces him that they could get along quite well, but can he melt the English ice and win the fiery Scottish lass within? Debra Dier will delight readers with her delicious love story. Meg and Alec are a passionate pair and the Scottish setting is truly romantic! Robert and Joanna's relationship is a wonderful subplot that reinforces the idea of true love surviving all odds. Ms. Dier has written a thoroughly enjoyable novel that readers will love!Combine a wild Scottish warrior and an English ice queen and you get a passionate romance sure to enthrall readers! Magical! A wonderful story from the pen of Debra Dier! A fast-paced, romantic tale! Debra Dier will woo many readers with her gift for story telling!Kristina Wright -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc.
