After years of traditional quest fantasy, I've gotten a bit tired of the same old same old. So when Allan Cole turned in his outline for the Timura trilogy, which began with Wizard of the Winds and continues with Wolves of the Gods, I was thrilled. It swept me right back to the days when I devoured books such as Mary Renault's The King Must Die, and although I hardly ever edit fantasy, I just had to sign up this series. A vast world, great magic, neat characters, and thoroughly nasty villain--what more could I ask to make work feel like a vacation?
