This book covers projects and writings by Giorgio Grassi starting from 1982 and assembled from a homogeneous reflection on the ancient city and on the relationship between recent and past architecture. From the project for the reconstruction of Teora up to that for the Roman Theatre of Sagunto ot the more recent one for the city of Marburg, Grassi has developed with extreme coherence an extremely poignant reflection on architecture, on its construction and on its ends. Further to those already mentioned, two projects for the city of Xativa (Valencia) are presented in this issue (one is a small museum which has recently been built), and projects for the Prinz Albrecht Palais in Berlin and for the architectonic restructuration of an ancient building complex near Bergamo. A critical essay by Ignasi de Sola Morales brings out and discusses some fundamental aspects of this important experience of modern architecture.
