About the Author
Ellen Vaughn is an award-winning author and speaker. Her novels include The Strand and Gideon's Torch, which she coauthored with Chuck Colson. She collaborated with Colson on eight other nonfiction works, including Being the Body, The Body, and Kingdoms in Conflict. Her most recent book is Radical Gratitude. Vaughn speaks frequently at Christian conferences and has been featured at writers’ seminars in the United States and Canada. She lives in Virginia with her husband, Lee; daughter, Emily; twins, Walker and Haley; and an enormous dog named after C. S. Lewis.

To the outside world, Anne and Paul Lorelli are living the perfect life in suburban Washington, D.C. It takes Paul's death during a mugging turned violent to make Anne realize that her ten-year marriage wasn't perfect. Forced to live on her own for the first time, Anne begins to put her life together by visiting the tourist sites she had previously ignored. A chance meeting with a Holocaust survivor at the Holocaust Museum gives Anne the impetus to pursue her dream of tutoring inner-city youth, a goal her husband had found laughable. In the process, Anne learns enough about life and Christian faith to enable her to grow in ways she never thought imaginable. Vaughan (coauthor with Charles Colson of The Body, Word, 1996) has written a tremendously insightful thriller that skillfully blends themes of romance, forgiveness, and spiritual growth. A simply wonderful book; highly recommended.
