Synopsis
The schooner Integrity was built in a famous boatyard in the 1960's in Massachusetts, and she was the dream boat of her owner, Waldo Howland. She cruised in the West Indies and crossed the Atlantic to visit Ireland and England. Then she was sold, and there began a chain of events which led to adventure, chicanery and eventually tragedy.

Review
The INTEGRITY was the dream boat of Concordia, Massachusetts, boat-builder Waldo Howlan and designed and built on the lines of a traditional trading schooner, from the best of traditional materials, and used with fine craftsmanship.
He sailed her for 10 years, during which she became famous on the US east coast and 1970 sold her due to his advancing years. She was bought by a syndicate with the intention of chartering her but, handled by a crew not familiar with such vessels or the treacherous waters of the Caribbean, she suffered first a knock-down and then crippling damage from a Yugoslav cargoship attempting to pick up the crew in answer to a distress flare.
The cargoship rescued the crew but the severely damages INTEGRITY was abandoned and then looted by passing yachts and sailors.
The hull was towed by the ex-trawler, CAPTAIN CAP to Grand Turk. Now a saga of chicanery, greed, and general human nastiness began; it ended with the mysterious sinking of the old hull and her anchorage just before she was due to be auctioned.
The legal complexities of the story are vividly told. Finally, the owner of the refloated hull and Frank Mullvile in his yacht ISKRA embarked on a sentimental attempt to tow the hull to Cat Island, 300 miles away. They would have succeeded but for a rotten break with the weather; the remains of the INTEGRITY finally foundered at sea.
