A unique and beautiful book about Australian antiques and collectibles from 1788. Lavish photographs of rooms from key periods of Australian history - Colonial, Goldrush, Edwardian and so on - illustrate typical furniture and decorative objects. Each of these items is illustrated and discussed in detail providing an informative guide for collectors, as well as a fascinating glimpse into the life of the period. The book takes you into several famous but infrequently photographed rooms such as Government House, Parramatta, and the W.R. Johnston Collection, East Melbourne, as well as into private houses that have never before been publicly shown.
