There were two pools in the field of the farm where Robin had been born. He was the son of a strict farmer and a gipsy lovechild. His mother, Rosie, an dhis pure gipsy grandmother, Hedda, he loved but his father he hated. And as he grew older he hated the manager who came to run the farm after his father died. So much so that the gipsy blood rose within him and he knocked the manager out, taking out the farm himself. Robin knew that he was two pools himself. One half the ordinary village lad, the other half gipsy. But then he learnt from his grandmother, just before she died, that his grandfather had been an aristocrat. Then Robin married a lady, and thought he was in love with her, but things began to go wrong and soon he knew it was all over.
