Kindergarten-Grade 2 A loosely organized potpourri of information covering all types of flags and the reasons behind the uses of each. The brief chapters jump around, showing 171 flags of the world, flag shapes, flag signals, international flags, flags of heads of state, motor racing flags, flag design and the semaphore system. The text is well suited to the age level and will spark an interest in further research. The format is attractive, and each page is well organized around text and bright, crisp, colorful illustrations. Flags contains a more varied selection of information than is found in Thompson and Giesen's Flags (Lerner, 1977). Marguerite Lewis, Glenmont Elementary School, N.Y.
