From School Library Journal:
Grade 1-2 Originally published in 1982 and 1983, these have been ``revised'' to have a much easier reading levelabout 75 words per spread; printed in large, boldface type; with a limited vocabulary and very short sentences. There is not enough revision of the text to justify purchase except in libraries needing the easier reading level. The Moon describes lunar structure, phases, and the history of its exploration, concluding with a two-page map of the near side. Spacecraft whips through the history of space flight from satellites to the shuttle, and speculates at (comparative) length on future developments. With such brief texts, it's hard to keep from oversimplifying, and in Spacecraft there's a reference to the ``freezing cold of space.'' Still, Langley is generally careful and also adds the occasional nugget of recent information. With few exceptions, the illustrations, all color paintings and photos, have been recycled from the originals. John Peters, New York Pub . Lib .
