"As an academic who has studied the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games in detail and other select Olympic Games for almost a decade, I thoroughly enjoyed this text and will adopt it as one of multiple required texts for a graduate seminar I am developing on Special Events: The Olympic Games. I can attest that the authors addressed multiple issues from a viewpoint and with an attention to detail that provided this reviewer with new information and insights into a tourism mega-event that continues to generate global attention. ... To conclude, I found this book interesting. I will use it as one of multiple texts in a graduate level class but it would serve equally well for an introductory class of undergraduate students who need a broad, interesting background text on this topic.
