"With over one hundred wood engravings specially cut by the author and her sister (Delphis Gardner)." The author, her sister Delphis, and brother Charles were noted breeders of Irish Wolfhounds (Coolafin), living at Curracloe in County Wexford. The Gardners had an intellectual as well as keenly practical interest in their Wolfhound breeding. This is an excellent and very readable history of the Irish Wolfhound which details the breed's appearance in all manner of historical and legendary records. Pedigrees are included, especially old ones, and a great many named dogs appear in the wood engravings. This is a reprint of the 1931 Dundalgan Press edition.
