Synopsis
The author demonstrates that man's present troubles - and they are both manifold and mighty - are entirely due to his tragic refusal to accept the biblical view of himself, his needs, and the only way whereby he can be delivered. The popular modern views related to these matters are considered and analyzed, and shown to be utterly inadequate. Modern man is revealed to be held in the grip of cliches and prejudices which prevent him from thinking clearly. At the same time it is shown that nothing is more up-to-date and contemporary than the historic biblical message.
