About the Author
H. W. Bird is Professor of Classics at the University of Windsor, Ontario (Universtiy Research Professor, 1992-93). Having served in the Royal Navy, he studied at Trinity College, Cambridge, McMaster University and the University of Toronto. He has since taught at a number of universities in
England, Finland and Canada. H. W. Bird is the author of Sextus Aurelius Victor: A Historiographical (Liverpool, Francis Cairns) and he translated and commentated on Eutropius: Breviarium (Translated Texts for Historians 14).
