About the Author

Darren Howie has thirty years fly fishing experience, including competition fishing as well as being a professional fly tyer. He was one of the founding members of the Ashington Kingfishers fly fishing club, now in its 22nd year. Darren has lived in the same coastal village in Northumberland all his life. Having the North Sea right on his doorstep has contributed towards fishing playing such an important part of his life from an early age. For many years now, he has been a keen stillwater fly fisherman on fisheries from the North of England into Scotland.
