Dust Jacket Condition: Fine-. 1st ed. 192 pp., 8 pp.plates ex-pagination inc. map; virtually pristine in blue cloyh cover; price-clipped jacket otherwise clean and unworn, map on back. Basically an historical account of the unscrupulous exploitation of Ocean Island by phosphate mining company BPC (British Phosphate Commission) which resulted in the island's devastation, culminating in a prolonged and celebrated law suit in the mid-1970s bought by the Banabans against BPC which ended in a victory of sorts, albeit somewhat ambiguous.
