William Tynedale's New Testament of 1526 was the first edition of the New Testament to be printed in English. This reproduction, taken from a copy belonging to the Bristol Baptist College, which was sold to the British Library in 1994, was published to mark the 450th anniversary of publication. This work is reproduced with the coloured lettering used in the original copy and is in a slightly larger format than the original for "Ease of reading". At the back of the book there is a five page essay by F F Bruce on the background to the work's original publication. Pages clean and crisp, dusky pink endpapers, top edge gilt, bound in the original black cloth with gilt spine lettering and boxed in the original cardboard case. Size: 7.5 x 5.5 Inches. Bible.
