Play script version of one of the most lovable of folk tales, told with suspense and charm. Three sets. Peasant costumes. Cast of 4 women, 2 men, 1 cat, extras. (Suitable for all-girl cast.)
Hansel and Gretel are sent into the forest to gather berries. There they get lost, and guided by fairy music, grope their way to an enchanted cottage made of gingerbread, sugar plums, and lollipops. Here they are captured by the Witch, but with help of Trudi the cat, and the Jack-in-box, they are able to outwit the Witch, transform the cat to her rightful shape, release the Forest Fairy from imprisonment, and return to their loving father.
