Synopsis
A luxury collection of comics by Rian Hughes, master illustrator and designer. Includes Grant Morrison's reworking of the classic British comics character Dan Dare, The Science Service, which allows Hughes full rein for his retro style, and Raymond Chandler's Goldfish, adapted by Tom DeHaven, in which he captures the noir shadows in a clever use of 2-colour artwork. Also in the book are Really & Truly from 2000AD and a selection of sketchbook pages. Produced in an embossed casebound edition with an introduction by comics guru Paul Gravett.

About the Author
Rian Hughes, born 1963, is a graphic designer, illustrator, comic artist, author, and typographer. From his studio, Device, he has produced watches for Swatch, Hawaiian shirts, logo designs for Batman and Spiderman, an iconoclastic revamp of British comic hero Dan Dare, and collaborated on a set of six children’s books with Geri Halliwell of The Spice Girls. A retrospective monograph, Art, Commercial was published in 2001. Recent books include Cult-ure: Ideas can be Dangerous, Lifestyle Illustration of the 60s, and his book of burlesque art, Soho Dives, Soho Divas. His comic strips have been collected in Yesterday's Tomorrows.
