Synopsis
(excerpt from the book jacket)... a personal account of places seen 'with the eyes of an artist who is interested in nature and a novelist interested in everything.' It is an entree into the unknown Greece, its wildlife and its people, among whom author Susan and artist Peter Barrett lived for ten years. During this time they travelled all over the country, both mainland and islands, collecting experiences, notes and sketches for what was to become the raw material for this book.

From the Author
This was an absolutely amazing commission by Gill Rowley of Columbus Books. It gave us a brilliant excuse to do what we like doing best - wandering about Greek hillsides, taking in all that a Greek hillside offers and sharing it on paper in the way we love: Peter by drawing, sketching and painting, and Susan by scribbling away in a notebook. Back inside, in studio and study, it became hard work, of course. The result in this instance was the favourite book we've produced together. We have the original painting of the book jacket (showing bee-eaters on Sifnos) on our kitchen wall as a reminder of our wonderful days collecting material.
