Portfolio. Condition: Mint. Patricia Macdonald (Photographs) (illustrator). First Edition. This rare illustrated portfolio contains twelve full colour photographs of Scottish landscapes taken from the air they are printed on heavy high gloss cards. Laid in is an introduction to the photographer and details of the exhibition that this portfolio was published to accompany which was mounted by the British Council to mark the U.K. Presidency of the European Council of Ministers 1st July - 31 December 1992. This copy is from the library of Tom Spencer MEP. Patricia Macdonald was born in Edinburgh and educated at Edinburgh University where she gained a doctorate in Biological Science in 1973. An independent photographic artist and graphic designer, she was Head of Publications Design and Production for the National Museums of Scotland from 1985-90. Much of her recent work has involved aerial photography, in collaboration with her husband, Angus Macdonald, as pilot and operations manager. This has resulted in some beautiful close-ups of cloud formations and jewel-like visions of the surface of the earth. Patricia Macdonald has exhibited and published widely in Britain and abroad.
