Synopsis
Based on the TV series The Detectives produced by Celador, as seen on BBC1 (starring Jasper Carrott and Robert Powell)
Buried for years in the Metropolitan Police Records Office in a cabinet marked 'Hugely Embarrassing', this is the file they didn't want you to see. Published here for the first time ever is proof positive that Detectives Dave Briggs and Bob Louis pose a greater threat to public order than organised crime or international terrorism. In case notes about the investigations they have bungled and disciplinary records dating back to their days in training their diary of disasters is detailed in full, revealing a catalogue of cock-ups, cop-outs and cover-ups the likes of which would have Dixon of Dock Green turning in his grave.
The evidence of their ineptitude comes in the form of letters, doodles, musings and even poems written by Briggs and Louis on official police documents as well as reports from superior officers and candid photographs of the two from throughout their extraordinary careers.
The Detectives File - it's arresting, it's a riot, but above all, it's criminal.
