Full-color photographs and illustrations enhance these books, providing in well-organized texts brief but informative discourses on topics often the subject of student reports and projects. Lambert gives standard factual weather information. Vrbova's title covers volcanoes in general; Lauber's Volcano (Bradbury, 1986), about Mount St. Helens, offers more details about a particular volcano. The information on earthquakes is very brief--only two sections are devoted to the topic, while volcanoes are treated in nine sections.
