Lyle Shannon is a Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He has received numerous federal and state grants to investigate juvenile delinquency and adult crime, the effectiveness of the justice system, political decision-making and more. He has authored numerous papers and bookooks.
