Thousands of readers, young and old, are acquainted with Rutherford G. Montgomery's narratives of the strong men and wild animals that live in the Western mountain country. He has published over eight short stories and serials in various magazines, and many books in addition to BROKEN FANG. Montgomery spent his boyhood on ranches in North Dakota and Montana. At college he studied law, history, and English; and when the World War broke out he enlisted as a machine gunner in the United States Army Air Corps, spent a year and a half in the service.
