There is no corner bumping or edge wear. No wear at head or foot of spine. Interior text is clean and tight in it's binding, no ownership or other markings. Endpapers show illustration of one of the earliest maps of the United States {1784} at the front, "Great Republic Map" of 1888 at back. Hinges and binding solid. Numerous illustrations, most in full color. Only flaw is page 279, apparently lower corner was turned up during the binding process and incorrectly cut. 289 pages of text including Indexes. Slipcase in blue, also matching portfolio containing 10 large fold-out wall maps {excellent condition}, clear plastic overlay of four different scales and area magnifying sheet. Double-sided maps include: The United States/Landforms, New England/Ohio Valley, Deep South/Pacific North West, Northern Plains/Atlantic Gateways, Great Lakes/The Southwest, Central Rockies/ United States, Tidewater/Texas, Far West/Central Plains, Alaska/Northern Approaches & West Indies/Hawaii.
