It is written for students and for engineers and throughly familiar with pipleline engineering. Although engineers working for an exploration, production or refining company do not carry out the deteailed development of a pipeline project, they may be involved in overall project supervision, and this book helps to provide sufficient information to make decisions concerning the economic aspects of installation, the principal characteristics of pipeline design and installation contractor and supplier selections, and pipeline operation. The book divides the field of pipeline engineering into four broad topics; introduction and background; design, construction, and installation; pump and compressor stations; operation and maintenance.
