PreS --Preschoolers who delight in Beatrice Schenk de Regnier's classic It Does Not Say Meow (Clarion, 1979) will also enjoy this title. Six new animal riddle rhymes are illustrated with bold, bright, and colorful pictures similar to those of Jan Pienkowski. They completely fill each double-page spread, and are in no way hindered by the text that is located at the bottom of each page. As children hear the riddles, they will find clues to the answers in the illustrations. This participation book will extend children's listening skills and visual perception. It's a useful addition for storytime collections, particularly because children sitting in the back row will be able to see the artwork. --April L. Judge, Thousand Oaks Library, CA
