About the Author
Debashis Sarkar is currently Deputy General Manager - Organizational Excellence Group, at ICICI Bank in Mumbai, India. A key resource on improvements for ICICI group, he has been instrumental in putting together the quality roadmap for the bank and has catalyzed major change initiatives such as the enterprise-wide deployment of Lean (5S) and Business Process Management. An emerging thought leader in the domain of quality in India and South Asia, Debashis has written extensively on topics related to improvements and is behind "Choose to Close Approach to Lean Improvements." Sarkar has previously authored Lessons in Six Sigma: 72 Must Know Truths for Managers (Response - Sage, 2004) and Quality in Business: 76 Mantras for Managers (Response - Sage, 2003).
