Reviews
Grade 5-7-- Heavy-handed dramatization and overuse of innuendo severely limit I Won't Leave You as a realistic story of an overworked parent dealing with an active preschooler. Stilted dialogue and the unbelievable portrayal of all adult figures will not impress young readers with the idea that parenting while working full time is exceedingly difficult. A young girl attempting to mother her babysitting charge as the little one's parents are engulfed with their own lives deserves better treatment than is presented here. --Alice Cronin, Mountainside Public Library, NJ
