Reviews
Laura and her teenage friends welcome new Vietnamese teenagers to their school. Meaning well, Laura attempts to make Tuyen Thanh Thai into another "cute American teenager," only to find that once Tuyen is made over, she seems to be gaining the attention of Eric, on whom Laura has had a crush for as long as she can remember. What Laura doesn't understand is that Tuyen has turned to Eric for understanding, as she has difficulty accepting her "Americanization." Interesting, thought-provoking reading for young teens. --Alice Cronin, Mountainside Public Library, NJ
