About the Author:

Mike E. Miles is senior managing director at Guggenheim Partners and was formerly foundation professor of urban development at UNC Chapel Hill. He lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Laurence M. Netherton is a 40 year veteran of real estate investment and development. For six years he taught land planning in a certificate program at the University of California, Irvine. He lives in Newport Beach, California. Adrienne Schmitz is a former senior director of publications at the Urban Land Institute. She is the author and editor of several books and articles on real estate and urban planning topics, including The New Shape of Suburbia and The Residential Development Handbook. She lives in Washington, DC.
