Are you faced with providing more training using fewer resources? This comprehensive book introduces new concepts and tools that will show you how to help your employees and associates take more effective responsibility for their own development.
The editors show how to reorient traditional instructional methods such as role plays, case studies, goal setting, and coaching for SDL; and also discuss more effective use of technologies such as CBT, the world wide web, and electronic mail for self-directed learning. Detailed case studies document the effectiveness of SDL.
Several reproducible instruments are included: learning style assessment, leadership competencies, OJT techniques, learning about your organization, and individual development plans. This is a practical guide, with ready-to-use resources to put learners in charge of their own learning.
