Part-time employment is becoming an increasingly popular alternative for professionals and employers alike. However, most of the insights offered here as to the advantages of becoming a part-time professional are probably well-known by the time an individual has decided to seek a part-time position. The short case studies scattered throughout do little more than validate the fact that there are interesting professional opportunities available on a part-time basis. The second half of the book, which focuses mainly on how to secure a satisfying position, merely provides some simplistic counter-arguments to employers' possible objections. The counsel to the job seeker is superficial and similar to that for seeking any job. Not recommended. Herbert E. Shapiro, Empire State Coll., Genesee Valley Regional Ctr., Rochester, N.Y.
