Albert Upton, a semanticist and linguist was concerned with meaning, while Chomsky and his followers were concerned with innate structures. Everyone knows Chomsky and Upton's book is long out of print. Upton, who knew I.A. Richards, another neglected semanticist, will emerge in the future as having a better understanding of language than Chomsky.
